Individual Therapy
*Cognitive Behavioral Therapy CBT: This modality of Psychotherapy is evidence Based that means it has been studied and found effective for a multitude of mental health diagnosis including but not limited to Depression, Adjustment disorder, Anxiety elated disorders, trauma related disorders and other conditions. It focuses on behaviors and thoughts that hinder quality of life and attempts to teach strategies that help one to change these thoughts and improve life quality.
*Exposure Response Therapy ERP: This evidence-based psychotherapy model is the gold standard for OCD, Phobias, Panic, and other Anxiety related disorders. It is a branch of CBT that focuses more on the overlearning theory and behaviors rather than thoughts. It helps one learn to overcome doubt and fear. This model is designed uniquely for each individual, it is practiced in a gradual and safe environment but requires prevention of the typical response (for example washing, avoiding, or checking). Distress tolerance is taught in this model to help repeating of undesired behaviors and homework assignments are provided for in between sessions. After practicing coping with each doubt or fear a relapse prevention planning session is provided.
*Acceptance Commitment Therapy ACT is another model of CBT therapy that focuses on accepting our thoughts and feelings and committing to actions that align with our values. This model of therapy looks heavily in identifying values and morals that are being compromised due to a certain situation (trauma and incompatible relationships) causing depression and anxiety in our day-to-day life. This model is most effective for PTSD, Trauma, Depression, and specific other disorders like Trichotillomania or Skin Excoriation. Staying in the present moment and observing the feelings change as thoughts change can help compartmentalize those memories that are too hard to accept or let go.
